Dress Purple Day taking place on Friday

You’re being asked to wear purple this Friday to show support for vulnerable children and families.

Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario, including the Huron Perth branch, are holding their annual Dress Purple Day Campaign on Friday.

They are aiming to raise awareness about the role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children and families in the community.

Resources are also offered to classrooms in schools to let elementary, middle, and high school students know about their right to safety and well-being.

Huron Perth CAS Executive Director Kristian Wilson says it’s about bringing people together.

“We know many children and youth are struggling in our communities, many need the additional support, we try and build networks around these families and work from where they are at.”
