A Rhinovirus outbreak has been declared at the Stratford General Hospital.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials say Rhinoviruses are the most frequent cause of the common cold and the outbreak is in the hospital’s Inpatient Unit.

The unit is now closed to admissions until further notice.

Patients may only have one family caregiver/visitor per day with no in-and-out privileges.

Those visiting will be required to wear personal protective equipment including mask, eye protection, gown and gloves.
