Destination Stratford is being recognized provincially.
The tourism group recently received an Accessible Tourism Award from the Tourism Association of Ontario for its Boathouse Public Washroom Expansion Project.
The project increased the number of washroom stalls from three to six, winterized the facility for year-round use, and improved accessibility with the addition of a universal washroom equipped with change tables for children and adults.
City officials say they will use this example to continue the advancement of developing an accessible and inclusive city for all.
