Perth County OPP will use a grant worth over $860,000 to help cut down on vehicle thefts.
The money is coming from the Ontario government as part of its Preventing Auto Thefts Grant and will be used for equipment, personnel, and training over the next three years.
There was a 72 per cent increase in vehicle thefts across Ontario from 2014 to 2021.
Twenty-one police services and OPP detachments will receive funding through the grant.
