Drug recognition evaluation leads to impaired charge

A Lucan man is charged with impaired driving after a traffic stop in West Perth.

Shortly after midnight on July 6, Perth OPP stopped a vehicle on Wellington Street in Mitchell.

The driver showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody.

After a Drug Recognition Evaluation, the 49-year-old was charged and released. He is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford Aug. 12.

Perth OPP remind drivers that any amount of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable when driving.
