UPDATE: Niece launches GoFundMe to support victim of Stratford shooting

Kayla Hardman, niece of David Tokley, has created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for Tokley’s recovery and the associated costs.

Tokley, who was critically injured in a shooting on August 1 in Stratford, is currently recovering at Victoria Hospital in London following brain surgery.

“He was an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Hardman stated on the GoFundMe page.

Police reported that 31-year-old Ricky Bilcke shot three people during a neighbour dispute before taking his own life.

Bilcke first fired a high-powered rifle from across the road, hitting 36-year-old Jonathan Bennett, who later died at the hospital.

Bilcke then grabbed a shotgun, went onto the road, and shot 43-year-old David Tokley, who is now in the hospital.

The third victim, Stephanie Irvine, Bennett’s partner, was shot after leaving her home and is suffering from life-altering injuries.

Hardman’s GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate the financial burden on the family as Tokley will be unable to work for an extended period.

Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page to help with these expenses and support Tokley’s road to recovery.
