A chance to get a manicure or makeover and support the Emily Murphy Centre

It’s a chance to get a manicure or makeover, or learn more about beauty products.

Abbie Chalmers and Yazmin Gonzalez from Shoppers Drug Mart have been hard at work promoting an event on Saturday, entitled, A Beauty Mingle.

To be held at the downtown location, the mingles, held four-times-per-year, feature games and prizes, and a chance to chat with beauty boutique employees.

Tickets are $10 and Gonzalez said they open the door to a variety of options.

“With the ticket you can get a mini-makeover, or mini-manicure, you (can) make an appointment with us or come in the day of,” she said.

$5 from each ticket is going to the Emily Murphy Centre, a residence for women who have experienced violence, with or without children, in Stratford and Perth County.

Chalmers said her employer works with the centre through the Shoppers Drug Mart Foundation. It’s a good partnership, as the Emily Murphy Centre usually needs a lot of items available at the stores.

“We feel it’s just a really good kind of compatible pairing,” Chalmers said.

You can book an appointment by calling the store and follow updates on social media.
