The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth’s Better Together Capital Campaign has raised about $3.4 million of its $6 million goal.
Campaign manager Kathrin Delutis says there is a clear goal in mind.
“This campaign is really about being able to maintain our current programs, particularly, in outreach and secondly to be able to meet the needs of our communities.”
Though spread out geographically, the locations work together to ensure care.
Delutis says new community outreach mobile vehicles will help rural Perth.
“That is going to allow us to take our services out into the community, out into the rural communities of Perth. So Listowel, Mitchell, Milverton, St. Marys.”
The vehicles, expected on the road by next June, will allow access to medical care.
Phase One of the campaign focuses on constructing a new 12,000 square foot community outreach centre, an addition to the existing building.
Phase two begins with renovations to existing facilities, and creating new spaces for expanding community programs.
The final phase focuses on maximizing potential for new and existing facilities.
