After a busy first summer of highlighting the history and stories of Stratford, there is no slowing down in the fall and winter months for Lauri Leduc.
Leduc, the owner of Stratford Walking Tours, said her unique business has been well-received. Leduc educates guests about the city’s buildings and structures but also the people who have left a lasting impact on the Festival City.
“Overall it’s been well-received. I’m very happy.”
With leaves starting to change colour, the tours are also changing, with a ghost story offering held last week and more to come, generally on Fridays and Saturdays.
The ghost stories encompass a 2K route, starting at city hall and continuing on through the downtown core, with stories shared along the way.
Leduc says she does a lot of research online and has found some old news clippings at the archives. She has also talked to people face-to-face for background information.
“Hearing those first hand accounts, that was wonderful.”
Upcoming is a history and heritage afternoon on Sept. 21. Food tours are also being offered, including Date night, Done Right on Oct. 4.
