Stratford police arrived at an Ontario Street residence early Tuesday morning to find a woman unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
The 35-year-old was taken to hospital, where she died from her injury.
A male at the scene, age 41, was arrested and charged by police.
Police said they were called to the Ontario Street residence at 5 a.m. after an incident. Police said it was an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.
