The Stratford Festival has announced preliminary casting for 11 productions next season.
Artistic Director Antoni Cimilino says the cast for 2025 includes some of the “most promising and accomplished actors of our time”.
Familiar names returning to key roles include Graham Abbey, Dan Chameroy, Laura Condlln and Jessica B. Hill.
Back after a hiatus are Maev Beaty, Shakura Dickson and Sara Farb.
The Festival always welcomes new talent to the stage and this coming season that will include Harper Rae Asch, cast in the prestigious lead role in Annie, as well as Caroline Toal as Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables.Â
Ann Swerdfager, publicity director with the festival, told MyStratfordNow she has heard about Asch’s amazing audition for Annie.
“Everyone is so thrilled about her. She is a real discovery. So I think it is going to be super exciting for everyone.”
Swerdfager added she is excited to see Toal and what she can do with the beloved Canadian character, Anne Shirley.
The 2025 season theme is Apollo, Venus, Mars: Reflections on Harmony, Love and War.
Productions scheduled for next season include As You Like It; Sense and Sensibility; Dangerous Liaisons; Macbeth; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Anne of Green Gables; The Winter’s Tale; Forgiveness; Ransacking Troy and The Art of War.
Tickets for the 2025 season are on sale to members of the Stratford Festival beginning Nov. 10 and to the public on Dec. 16.
