‘Not just books, but a world of possibilities’ at local libraries

Sunday is the start of Ontario Public Library week in Stratford.

The theme is Libraries for Life.

It coincides with celebrations for Canadian Library Month and Ontario Public Library Week.

Ontario Public Library Week celebrates libraries as lifelong institutions and how they continue to be reliable and trustworthy organizations serving the needs of individuals and communities across Ontario, according to a Stratford Public Library media release.

Stratford City Council has proclaimed Oct. 20-26 as Ontario Public Library Week in the city.

During Canadian Library Month, libraries and their partners across the country raise awareness about essential services they provide.

Krista Robinson, Stratford Public Library CEO, said libraries are a community hub for lifelong learning and play a vital role in helping all ages access information and tools they need to live, learn and work.

Robinson said the library invites the community to learn more about how the library supports learning, creativity and community and its doors are open to everyone.

She says the library offers not just books, but a world of possibilities.

To learn more about the happenings during Ontario Public Library Week at the local library, visit splibrary.ca or stop by 19 St. Andrew Street.
