It’s a reason to smile this holiday season as the community in Milverton have raised much needed funds for United Way Perth-Huron.
The local Tim Hortons donated more than $2,700 for the United Way Perth-Huron’s Urgent Needs Fund from their Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
The community raised more than $5,000, split 50/50 between the United Way Perth-Huron’s Urgent Needs Fund and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
The Urgent Needs Fund is a United Way program that is accessible, 24/7, 365 days a year in over 150 languages through their 211 helpline. The fund provides financial support for essentials to those who are struggling financially.
Susan Faber, United Way Perth-Huron Director of Resource Development and Communications, expressed gratitude and explained that “the effort put in by everyone involved will make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people.”
Some community groups who aided in the Holiday Smile campaign include the Milverton Girl Guides, the Perth East Fire Department, and the Atwood Lions Cubs.
