Airsoft gun at Perth East Public Library results in charges

Perth OPP responded to a weapons call in Perth East on Saturday (Feb. 22).

Police were called to a report of an individual brandishing a firearm at the Perth East Public Library, located in Milverton.

As a result, a 48-year-old Mitchell resident was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, mischief and failure to comply with probation order.

The firearm was later determined to be an airsoft gun and no injuries were reported.

The accused was taken into custody and was scheduled to appear in bail court on Sunday (Feb. 23).
