Learn about where Stratford’s waste goes with Climate Conversations

The fifth edition of Climate Conversations is March 6 and explores the topic of waste – where does it all go?

Guest speaker is Emily Skelding, Waste Reduction Coordinator, City of Stratford.

Skelding will address Stratford’s current waste management, and touch on changes in recycling legislation soon to be implemented in Ontario.

She will focus on green bins and food waste as rotting food in landfills gives off methane gas and discuss ways to better manage food waste.

There will be displays from CFUW Stratford on Alternatives to Plastic and Claire Upcycled, a sustainable streetwear brand.

A special feature of the night will be a swap table.

Guests can bring items in good condition that could be used by others, such as books, games, mugs, puzzles and more (no clothing).

The conversation will start at 7 p.m. at the city hall auditorium.
