Missing nine-year-old in Huron County located safe

A missing child was located safe this morning in Huron County.

Last night at 11 p.m., an alert sent out by Huron OPP requested public assistance in locating a missing child.

On Wednesday (Feb. 26), police received a report that Henry, a nine-year-old from Howick Township, was missing.

He was seen earlier that day around 5:30 p.m. walking on Perth Road 178 in Gorrie.

It was believed that he may have been operating a UTV in the area.

At 4:30 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 27), Huron OPP sent out another update stating that the missing child had been located safe and without injury.

This was due to the teamwork between police, local emergency services and the general public.

Police and family members thanked everyone for their assistance in getting Henry back home.
