Measles cases continue to rise in Huron and Perth

Huron Perth Public Health is reporting 14 confirmed outbreak cases of measles and 22 probable outbreak cases, as of March 18.

HPPH has also received reports of other ill people who are not seeking testing.

That is up from six cases reported by public health earlier in March.

Public Health Ontario is reporting 357 confirmed and 83 probable cases as of March 19.

Huron and Perth counties are still considered ‘areas of concern’ for measles, per the organization’s website.

HPPH is holding measles vaccine clinics for infants, children, and people born in or after 1970 who are not up to date.

Information on measles vaccine clinic eligibility and schedules are available on the HPPH website.
