Kevin Kruchkywich has been able to connect with people from all walks of life and believes that makes him the ideal MP for Perth-Wellington.
As an actor with nearly 30 years of experience and a general contractor, he’s seen a common thread from people he’s met along the way – Canadians are struggling and he says many are deeply concerned about the future of the nation.
“The NDP believes in people, investing in people first, so people can strengthen our industry and people can strengthen our country. That’s what we’re built on and that’s what we believe in. So, I think it’s important to have that voice in parliament.”
The Stratford resident and his wife found the community more than a decade ago and were drawn in by its welcoming people and entrepreneurial spirit.
Kruchkywich said in recent years, he’s seen jobs disappear, housing become more unaffordable, and uncertainty grow under mounting external pressure from the U.S.
That’s why he said he stands with the NDP party, the only party, he explained, that puts people first.
The Perth-Wellington MP hopeful believes the most important issue in the area is housing.
His party’s platform has several ways to approach the complex issue, such as working with local non-profits like United Housing to get people into the homes they need.
He explained that we need voices in parliament who truly reflect the communities they represent and he believes the NDP platform can help ease the struggles many Canadians are facing.
“You can pay your bills, you have a place to work, you have a place to live, the communities are strong, we’re protecting our industries, we’re hanging onto our resources, so we can build Canada back better,” said Kruchkywich.
