HPPH reports two measles community exposures at Stratford General Hospital

Huron Perth Public Health announced this afternoon (April 29) two new measles exposures.

The first occurred on the second floor of Stratford General Hospital’s maternal child department on April 22, from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The second was at the hospital’s outpatient registration, outpatient lab and outpatient lab waiting room in the west building, first floor, on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Anyone at these locations during these time frames needs to monitor for measles signs and symptoms for 21 days after exposure.

Call public health if you/your family member were present at these locations during these timeframes and were born in or after 1970 and have not received two doses of measles vaccines or are at high risk of severe measles illness.
