‘Definitely Maybe’ a chance to win Oasis tickets in humane society raffle

It’s a chance for Stratford residents to see a popular rock band that is returning to touring after a 25-year break.

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth has launched an Oasis 50/50 Raffle, a chance to see the British band on Aug. 24, at Rogers Stadium in Toronto.

It’s the most recent concert ticket fundraising idea for the humane society, after raising around $360,000 in their Taylor Swift 50/50 raffle.

Director of Development Jordan Baker told MyStratfordNow that figure may be out of reach but they are nonetheless hoping to raise a big amount in another fun contest.

“We are hoping it really resonates with people and people recognize that you can get involved with something really special here at the humane society…and really contribute to the humane society at the same time.”

Oasis burst onto the music scene with their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994.

Each ticket sold goes towards helping pets and people supporting veterinary care, shelter, and adoption programs for animals in need, while the other half goes to the raffle winner, along with two tickets to watch the rock band and $500 spending money.

CEO at the humane society, Victoria Baby, said every ticket purchased helps provide lifesaving care to pets who deserve a second chance.

The winning ticket will be drawn Aug. 19 and announced online.
