Car free Fridays returning to downtown Stratford next month

Take the bus, ride your bike, skateboard or just walk.

Downtown Stratford BIA and the City of Stratford’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee are teaming up for Car Free Fridays at Market Square.

The initiative aims to promote active transportation on June 6, 13, 20 and 27th.

The BIA tent will be set up at Market Square and you can stop in for a free coffee or juice from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

BIA GM Jamie Pritchard said leaving the car at home helps the environment and opens parking spaces to visitors and local patrons and walking or biking is a great way to get in shape.

Special guests include:

â—Ź Ross Taylor, Ross’ Bike Works – June 6 and June 20 – providing bike tuneups and tips
â—Ź Marc Graves, Bike Technician – June 6
â—Ź Constable Darren Fischer – Registering bikes under the 529 bike recovery program
