Project Weston takes guns and drugs off the streets of Stratford

Five accused persons are facing a total of 48 charges after a drug trafficking investigation took more than $100,000 worth of drugs off the streets.

Stratford Police Street Crime Unit and Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario launched Project Weston last year.

This month, police officers executed four search warrants in Stratford and Waterloo, seizing a loaded handgun, ammunition and high-capacity magazines.

Drugs seized include 378 grams of cocaine, 185 grams of fentanyl, 306 grams of methamphetamine, 471 Oxycodone pills and smaller amounts of other drugs.

Two females from Stratford, ages 47 and 27, respectively, have been charged, along with a 37-year-old male from the city.

A male and female from Waterloo, ages 24 and 22, respectively, are also charged.

Stratford police thanked their colleagues from Waterloo and Woodstock for their assistance in the investigation.
