A novice driver faces criminal and Highway Traffic Act offences after they went through a RIDE program in West Perth on Monday night.
Perth OPP were conducting the initiative at the intersection of Perth Road 164 and Perth Line 20 at 11 p.m. when they saw a vehicle attempt to avoid police.
A 19-year-old from Brampton was charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level above zero as a novice driver and being in care and control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
A 90-day license suspension was implemented along with a seven day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford Aug. 11.
