Open air fire ban across Stratford and Perth County

An open air fire ban will be implemented at midnight Wednesday across Perth County,  including the city of Stratford.

The ban includes any fire outside of a building, and any fires not in a contained campfire pit or other open air fires.

Recreational fires could be permitted depending on open air bylaws, with information  available at your local fire departments or local municipalities in the county.

Farmers are asked to exercise caution operating equipment.

The ban is imposed due to extreme dryness of vegetation.

No burn permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.
