Stratford Perth Museum showered with upcoming music shows

Celebrated musicians will grace the stage at Stratford Perth Museum this month.

Stratford Perth Museum has announced two concerts for August, featuring country crooner Randy Satchell and Blue Rodeo’s Bob Wiseman and Mike Boguski.

The first concert will see Satchell and his country band make their debut at the Players Backstage Stage, with the museum describing him as a “celebrated performer with a signature voice.”

A two-time winner of the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest (1981 & 1982), Satchell went on to serve as its head judge for two decades,” said Stratford Perth Museum.

“His rich musical journey includes performances in the U.S., China, Cuba, Zimbabwe, and across Canada, as well as two recorded albums with more music on the way.”

Tickets are $20, with proceeds going to the museum.

The concert is rain or shine, indoors if needed.

The show starts Friday at 7 p.m.

Following Satchell’s debut is Two Pianos, No Rodeo, where pianists Bob Wiseman and Mike Boguski will perform solo sets at the museum’s Cooperators Performance Theatre.

The museum says each set will showcase the pianists own sounds, with Wiseman’s work spanning folk, pop, and experimental music, while Boguski’s sound includes jazz and roots.

Wiseman is a founding member of Blue Rodeo, a Juno-award winner and composer.

Boguski is the current keyboardist of Blue Rodeo, and is described by the museum as “one of Canada’s most versatile instrumentalists.”

The museum says for members, show tickets are $35 plus taxes and fees, while general admission is $45 plus taxes and fees.

This concert is Aug. 24 at 2 p.m.
