Single vehicle crash in West Perth leaves one person seriously injured

A man has been injured due to a single-vehicle crash in West Perth.

Perth County OPP say the incident happened today, when a motor vehicle left the roadway on Perth Line 39 and hit a hydro pole, causing a power outage.

Officers responded alongside members of Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department, reporting that the vehicle’s driver suffered serious injuries.

They say the driver got airlifted to a local trauma centre, where his injuries were found to be not life-threatening.

The crash caused Perth Line 39 to temporarily close, but it has since been re-opened.

For the outage, Hydro One is working on restoring power to the affected area, with less than 20 customers affected.

Hydro says they expect the power to be restored by 7:00 p.m. tonight.

If you saw this incident or have dash-cam footage of it, call Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
