A Huron County man is out some cash after falling victim to an online scam.
The OPP says the man is a member of a popular dating website.
He reported receiving an email from someone, asking him to sign up to a different site.
The man did so and then was asked for a credit card number for age verification, which he supplied.
He then discovered the website had charged him $55.
When he called the customer service line he found the number wasn’t in service.
The police are telling residents to always investigate websites thoroughly before signing up for them.
You should also never send your financial information to anyone you don’t know and trust.
