Mitchell man’s help leads to the arrest of three

A Mitchell resident gave a helping hand to the OPP after spotting some people acting suspiciously.

Police say the resident saw two men and one woman around a parked Toyota Rav 4 on Montreal Street at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night.

He called the police and a licence plate check showed the Toyota had been stolen from Waterloo.

The three suspects fled from the police after they were told they were under arrest.

Thanks to the help of the resident who made the original call all three suspects were caught.

A 27-year-old North Perth man, a 40-year-old Waterloo man, and a 22-year-old Kitchener woman all face a long list of charges.

The three appeared in court in Stratford yesterday and remain in custody.
