MPP brings up Boon controversy at Queen’s Park

Another local politician is sounding off on the Rick Boon controversy.

Randy Pettapiece believes Boon should be allowed to attend a ceremony in the Netherlands.

The Perth-Wellington MPP brought the issue up Wednesday at Queen’s Park.  During Question Period Pettapiece asked Premier Kathleen Wynne to look into the issue.

Wynne appeared sympathetic but backed the school board’s ability to make its own decisions.  She did agree to discuss things with the Minister of Education however.

Recently the Avon Maitland board denied unpaid leave to Rick Boon.  He had intended to travel with his father Art, a Second World War Veteran.
