Mink freed from another farm near St. Marys

Another mink farm near St. Marys has been attacked.  The Perth County OPP says this operation is on Road 125.

Roughly 6800 mink were released from their cages between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Tuesday night.  The perpetrators cut wide openings in the fencing around the farm in several spots.

Farm employees have since rounded up most of the mink.  This is the second attack at an area mink operation in roughly a month.  The first happened on Glenwood Fur Farm.

The OPP is continuing to investigate.  If you know anything about this incident you’re asked to call the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
