McCotter discusses women’s issues with group, deputy premier

Liberal candidate Stephen McCotter says he’s “disappointed”.

That’s because he believes women’s issues are being ignored in the federal campaign.  McCotter met with Deputy Premier Deb Matthews and a group of women Thursday night in Stratford.

One of the issues they discussed was child care.  McCotter says the issue is how best to deliver improvements:

McCotter is also critical of Tom Mulcair’s decision to not attend an upcoming women’s issues debate.  He believes it shows “the NDP puts cynical politics above debating issues.”

McCotter believes voters want to know where the leaders stand on all the issues:

NDP candidate Ethan Rabidoux takes exception to McCotter’s statement:

Both McCotter and Rabidoux have confirmed they will be taking part in an Up For Debate women’s issues debate in Stratford next month. There’s been no response as of this publishing to an email sent Friday asking if Conservative John Nater will take part in that debate.
