Actor Brian Bedford passes away at the age of 80

Actor Brian Bedford has passed away.

He was a veteran of 29 seasons at the Stratford Festival.

Bedford appeared both on the stage and in film and was known not only for acting in Shakespeare’s works but also for directing them.

Fellow actor Rod Beattie says Bedford had “it” from early on:

The Stratford Festival will be dedicating the 2016 production of Macbeth to Bedford’s memory. The Festival says details of a memorial that will be held in Stratford will come at a later date.
