‘Save VIA’ supports federal MPs riding the trains

Five federal Members of Parliament left the Halifax train station yesterday.

They’re riding the rails to drum up federal support for VIA Rail.

The issue has been a big one locally since the loss of Trains 86 and 89.

St Marys businessman and ‘Save VIA’ founder Chris West says he supports this new campaign by the MPs.

He has sent along the names and comments of the 4100 people who signed West’s online petition last year to restore passenger rail service.
