David Quail, age 78, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Spruce Lodge, August 7, 2016. David was born in Stratford, son of the late Hugh and Irene Quail. He attended Romeo School and Stratford Collegiate (Central High School). He was Baptized and Confirmed at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. At age 15 he enlisted with the Army and worked radios overseas. He received many awards for his accomplishments. David was a mechanic, machinist and millwright by trade and worked at Riehl Motors, Kalbfleisch Brothers, UPS, FAG Bearings, Dominion Chain and the St. Marys Cement Plant. He was predeceased by his first wife Rheta (Lindensmith) in 1996. He is survived by his second wife Carol (Velasco) Quail, brother Jack Quail (Gail); step children Cory Lynn Orchard, Steve Wray (Bonnie) and Gary Wray (Jennifer); step grandchildren Christopher Orchard (Christina), Megan Edwards (James), Kaitlin Orchard, Angela, Derek, Lindsay and Courtney Wray; step great grandchildren Ella, Kruz and Kerrington. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joan Vance, Irene Patterson, Ann Lindensmith, Sandy Lindensmith and Shirley Hartleib. Dear uncle of Nancy Caslick (Chris) and their children Jenna and Hayden, Leanne Eghoetz (Wayne), Tracy Hughes (Jeff), Brad Patterson (Laura), Steve Patterson (Trudy), Mark Patterson (Sheila), Jan MacDonald, Linda Yielding, Deb Rea (Tony), Suzanne, Jack and Bob Hartleib and Kim Hartleib and her children Aaron, Anne Marie and Jessia. Also survived by a special friend Garry Hammond and many heartwarming cousins in Mexico. David was predeceased by his father-in-law Bert Lindensmith and by his mother-in-laws Adeline (Olies) Lindensmith and Ruth (Baker) Velasco. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, August 11, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Hugh Jones will officiate. A reception will follow the interment at Avondale Cemetery.
