As spring approaches, local anglers may be tempted to squeeze in a couple more ice fishing outings.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is warning you to be very careful.
Ice thickness varies a lot from one section of the lake to the next.
Check ice conditions with others before you venture out, let people know where you’re going and make sure you’ve got the proper clothing and gear with you including ice picks.
