The Stratford Festival says there are a number of reasons behind the plan to replace Tom Patterson Theatre.
Earlier this week a story broke that the Festival wants to demolish the aging structure and build a new, modern facility in the same location.
Executive Director Anita Gaffney says part of it is about ensuring the future:

Gaffney added they’re also working closely with the city to accommodate people who use the Kiwanis Community Centre. The plan is to have a new building up and running by 2019.
