Animal Control Working Group meeting next week

The City of Stratford’s Animal Control Working Group is holding a meeting next Thursday. It’s open to the public.

The group was made to help the city review its Animal Control bylaw.

The nine-member panel is discussing things like banning the sale of pets in stores, limiting the number of pets per household, limiting the amount of dogs per owner allowed at the off-leash park, leashing cats, allowing chickens as pets, and pro-rating or even waiving licensing fees for rescues.

Next Thursday’s meeting is happening at 5:00pm in the Avon Room at 82 Erie Street.

For more information, get in touch with the city’s Policy and Research Associate Stephanie Potter by emailing spotter@stratfordcanada.ca or calling 519-271-0250 x253.
