Three new members inducted into the Ag Wall of Fame

The Stratford Perth Museum has announced this year’s Ag Wall of Fame inductees. They’re Tom Graham, Linda Weitzel, and Gary West.

Graham, who passed away in 1997, moved to St. Marys in 1953 and started Gramlyn Farms.  He loved genetics which led to his work to improve layer and broiler chickens.  His love of genetics also led to the introduction of the RX3 cattle, a three-way cross of Red Holstein, Red Angus, and Hereford.

Weitzel, who lives in Tavistock, has worked to improve the lives of women and children in the agriculture industry through her organization Perth Care for Kids.

West is an egg farmer from near Shakespeare whose work has contributed to countless charities and organizations such as the Stratford and District Agricultural Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.

The inductees were announced last Thursday at the Stratford Rotary Club’s Rural-Urban Night.
