Jody Eidt will be sentenced for fraud this week. Eidt, who used to live in West Perth, pleaded guilty in February to eight counts of fraud in running a mortgage investment scheme that cost his victims more than $1.2 million.
A report in the Beacon Herald says the court heard seven victim impact statements last Thursday. At that appearance the defense said it’s looking for a sentence of two years in prison with three years of probation.
The crown asked for three or four years in prison plus a 20 year ban on Eidt getting any job that involves handling other people’s money or property. He’ll be sentenced Wednesday morning at 10:00am.
