Possible Changes Discussed on Election and Third Party Signage in Stratford

Public feedback will be part of whatever decision the City of Stratford decides to make on possible changes to signage.

The potential changes could affect the size, placement and location of election or third-party support signs.

The changes are coming down from the province’s Municipal Elections Act which now states a third-party sign is defined as more of an advertisement for a candidate or a stance on an issue.

They wouldn’t include signs under the purview of a specific candidate.

Enforcement of any violations is also something the city will have to look at moving forward.
