Perth County’s Emergency Management Coordinator says to stay away from any riverbanks or streams.
Dave Colvin says his department has been monitoring the area closely, with a number of closures throughout the region due to flooding.
He says it might be a good idea to get yourself a grab-and-go kit in case you do need to evacuate a home or at least a 72-hour emergency kit with candles, non-perishable food and water.
Temperatures cooling down are expected to curb some of the run-off.
Colvin says don’t drive over any water-covered roads as it could be hiding deep potholes or even a washout.
He says county and city roads crews have been out almost non-stop over the last 36 hours.
