Ground set to be broken at site of Stratford-Perth Rotary Hospice

Ground is set to be broken for the Stratford-Perth Rotary Hospice.

The official ground breaking is scheduled to take place Thursday at the rear of Greenwood Court on Greenwood Drive in Stratford for the hospice which is expected to be ready to open come next March.

The board of directors has been raising money through community events, including Hike for Hospice, over the last few years and raised $6.5 million of its $8.5 million goal.

Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice board of director chair Andy Werner says it has been a team effort to get the funds needed to operate.

The ground breaking starts at 5:30 with a get together with the architect and general contractor for the project taking place in the gym at the Greenwood Court after.
