Over A Dozen Crashes In Snowy 24 Hours

It’s been a busy twenty-four hours for the Stratford police.

There have been 13 collisions in Stratford, St Marys, and Perth South with police saying that most of them were minor and no one was seriously hurt.

Police say the majority of the issues were weather related with drivers going too fast for the road conditions.

Stratford Police Constable Darren Fischer says drivers need to slow down and take their time.

“Now we do have to take into account that we have just taken over the areas of Perth South and St.Marys, so that comes into consideration, but 13 is a fairly high number for us.”

Fischer adds that a majority of drivers appear to forget how to drive in wintry conditions when the snow first falls every winter, and it sometimes takes them the first few snowfalls before they remember.
