A reminder if you’re looking to dispose of your Christmas Tree in Stratford.
The city says trees will be collected from next Monday to next Friday and the trees must be no longer than 7 feet.
You’re asked to remove all decorations and tinsel from the tree before putting it out to the curb and to make sure that the tree isn’t covered in snow on your pick-up morning.
Officials say don’t put your tree in a plastic bag and collected trees will be added to the Stratford landfill site’s brush pile which is shredded once a year.
The shredded brush is used as cover at the landfill site in the winter and has also been mixed into active compost piles.
When that material is finished composting, it is screened and offered as free compost to residents.
