Minto man charged following standoff in Listowel

A 21-year-old Minto man faces a long list of charges following a standoff with police in the community.

Police were called out a home on Main Street early Friday morning as they searched for a man who was wanted on several offences.

Three nearby elementary schools were put into a hold and secure pattern and officers surrounded the home and blocked the street between Victoria and Barber Avenues.

Members of numerous OPP units including the Tactical and Rescue Unit and the Crisis Negotiator Team remained on the scene until the man was arrested shortly after 5 p.m.

Nathan Chambers faces charges including Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5 thousand and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He was remanded into custody after a bail hearing on Saturday.
