It’s off and running for an annual tradition in Stratford.
The 9th Annual Stratford Garbage Can Decorating Competition was officially launched Thursday morning at Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre.
Incorporated as a Green Week feature event in Stratford, with Green Week running from April 22nd to 28th, the competition is co-sponsored by the City of Stratford, Stratford’s volunteer Communities-In-Bloom, Civic Beautification, and Environmental Awareness Committees, Festival Marketplace and Stratford Community Living.
MJ Thomson is the Property Manager at Festival Marketplace and she says the theme for this year’s competition is “Embracing Diversity”.
“Embracing diversity can mean many different things, it can be talking about people, it can be talking about agriculture, it can be talking about all the things in our community so there are some of really wonderful things that happen.”
The deadline for all submissions is April 23rd at 9 p.m. with the judging of all entries on judging 24th and the awards presentation on April 26th at Festival Marketplace.
