A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of his fiancee from Vanastra
Corey Volland made the plea in a Goderich courtroom Thursday after he was charged with second-degree murder in 27-year-old Laura Wigelsworth’s death.
Wigelsworth’s body was discovered by the roadside in Vanastra on May 10th, 2018 after she was reported missing when she didn’t come back from an evening walk.
The two were to be married in August last year.
Wigelsworth was the mother of two children from a prior relationship while Volland also has one child from a previous relationship.
