New four-way stop sign in Stratford

There’s a new four-way stop sign to watch out for in Stratford.
Officials say that with the school year almost here, they have installed the sign at the intersection of Matilda Street and Oakdale Avenue.
They say it’s part of a strategy to increase traffic and pedestrian safety in the area, especially as renovations being done at Stratford Central Secondary School will see a significant number of students relocating to Stratford Northwestern Secondary School for the upcoming school year.
There will also be traffic signs signs installed indicating that the speed limit has been lowered to 40 km/h on parts of Matilda Street and Short Street.
A pedestrian crossover on Forman Avenue, just north of Oakdale Avenue, will also be put in place to help with safey in that area.
