Shellfish filter for watershed

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is trying something new and innovative to clean up the watershed.

It has teamed up with the University of Windsor and Luckhart Transport to test a new approach for removing phosphorous from the water.

Steve Sauder with the authority says they’re using shellfish.

He says shellfish help remove phosphorous from the water.

Sauder says they have been able to do this for very little cost.

They will install the new filter this afternoon at 3:00PM at Luckhart Transport Limited in Sebringville on Perth County Road 135.
