Resident at long-term care home in Stratford dies from COVID-19

A resident at a long-term care home in Stratford has died from COVID-19.

Huron Perth Public Health says in a press release on Saturday that the Greenwood Court resident, who was in their eighties, had become sick with symptoms of the virus on April 3rd.

HPPH says they continue to work closely with staff at Greenwood Court to support case and contact management and infection control.

To date there have been 6 confirmed cases in residents included in this outbreak and 5 confirmed cases in staff.

No new confirmed cases were reported on Saturday.

All affected individuals continue to be cared for at Greenwood Court, and none have been transferred to hospital.

Testing on staff and residents at the home continues for anyone who develops symptoms; if new cases are identified, close contacts may also be tested whether symptomatic or not.
